A: you're right. he did say he was fortunate to enter into LA. what may have happened is because he was freely talking, maybe he was going to say "when i entered into (the field of) acting" I would still say "entered acting" but sometimes people don't use these words correctly even if they are native speakers ^^ it may be he was going to word the sentence differently and then changed his mind, but he had already said "into" !
