Was ist der Unterschied zwischen curriculum und tutorial ?
A:
"curriculum" is like the course schedule - generally over a semester, or a year, or even the whole length of the program.
"We didn't study that in my high school curriculum"
"This semester's history curriculum will cover both world wars and the Great Depression"
A "tutorial" on the other hand is like a very short class to try to teach you basics or bring you up to speed quickly.
"Check out this YouTube tutorial on the Chinese Civil War, it's pretty extensive for being only 10 minutes long"

Q:
Was ist der Unterschied zwischen curriculum und course ?
A:
Curriculum refers to the program of a study (like a schedule or syllabus) whereas course refers to the class itself (ie Econ 101 as the title of a course). You take courses in college, not curriculums. The course has a curriculum in which you follow. I guess the term curriculum would be equivalent to coursework.

How is the German curriculum organized? If someone is 14 years old, are you attending junior high school?
A:
Well, we don't really have middle schools, high schools etc. here in Germany. Elementary school usually goes from grade 1 to grade 4 or 6, depending on the state you're living in. Then you either attend a 'Gymnasium', a 'Realschule' or a 'Gesamtschule'.
The 'Gymnasium' goes till grade 12 or 13 (also depending on the state or school). The 'Realschule' finishes at grade 10. I don't really know how 'Gesamtschulen' work, because those are mixed schools. After attending a 'Gymnasium' you can either drop out at grade 10 and get your 'Realschul' graduation (or at grade 9 and get your 'Hauptschul' graduation) or finish and get your high school-diploma. After finishing the 'Gymnasium' you can attend a University. With your 'Realschul' graduation you can start an apprenticeship.
