A: Lately means recently, not too long ago.
Nowadays means what it going now in contrast with the past.

She has been acting weird lately.

She use to be so friendly but nowadays, she acts so rude.

A: You can use all three expressions in pretty much the same way:

1. Lately, I've been learning English
2. Recently, I've been learning English
3. These days, I am learning English (this sentence is slightly different to sound more natural - usually used with present tense eg. something I am doing regularly, at the moment.)

A: The only situation I can think of where these aren't the same is when you're talking about a single action.

Example:
"I went to the park recently."
You're only talking about going once, so "lately" wouldn't sound natural.

"I've been going to the park recently/lately."
Both would work here and there isn't really any difference in meaning.

Most of the time they're interchangeable though. If you use one instead of the other no one will realise.
