A: I’ve never thought about it, but I don’t think there’s much of a difference. I use both of them in conversations a lot and I still am grammatically correct in both ways. Hopefully this helped you and it didn’t confuse you!

mostly is an adverb meaning almost all, almost completely, mainly e.g. the weather has been mostly sunny this week.

A: Usually means most of the time or 9 times out of 10, sort of thing.
Mostly means almost all of something, more like 90%.
