A: It means it is the present simple tense.

A: Simple present: I eat dinner. I walk home. I listen. Simple past: I ate dinner. I walked home. I listened. Past participle: I have eaten dinner. I will have walked home. I had listened.

p.c. i am reading tonight

A: I have worked this week
I have studied English this year
I have been to Japan twice
Ana has worked so hard lately
My mom has been sick.
Remember: I had my hair cut YESTERDAY (something that's done! Finished! It is in the past)
I have had my hair cut (happened in the past but it doesn't matter when happen or it's an action that you can see the result in the present)

A: I'm eating now.
I'm going to work.
I'm having a good time with my friends.

You can also use it in future tense to express the action that will 100% happen. For ex. I'm going to the cinema next week.

A: Present simple: Tu te habla sobre algo que sucede en el presente.
ex. "I eat bread" (Yo como pan)
Present continuos:Usted habla sobre algo que está sucediendo en el presente.
ex. I'm eating bread. (Stoy comiendo pan)

A: SIMPLE PRESENT (presente simple): You use this when you are speaking about the action in general. It could happen at any time.
EXAMPLES: "I walk." "You sing." "He dances." "We play." "You all talk." "It crawls." "They type."

PRESENT PROGRESSIVE (presente continuo): You use this for something that is currently happening, right now.
EXAMPLES: "I am walking." "You are singing." "He is dancing." "We are playing." "You all are talking." "It is crawling." "They are typing."

continuous = lo hago ahora

i eat fish = no como pescado ahora pero me gusta y lo como tipicamente

i eat fish every day
i eat fish because i like it

i am eating fish = tengo pescado en mi plato ahora

"hi rin what are you doing?"
"i am eating fish with my friends"

"i eat fish with my friends" no funciona en este contexto, implica que lo haces frecuentemente
