Your original paragraph was very good and easy to understand. I just rewrote it to make it sound more natural in spoken English. "like Chinese" should be "like Chinese culture" however, that's the one thing that is wrong.

As for why Elmo days he has no eyelids, it doesn't mean anything. It is random and maybe the creators thought that would be funny.
