‘Trait’ is similar to ‘characteristic’ but I think ‘trait’ is used more often when describing people. I would usually opt for ‘trait

I think ‘trait’, ‘characteristic’ and ‘quality’ are all pretty much the same. I would use them interchangeably. I think quality and trait might be used more often when describing personality rather than physical appearance, whereas characteristic sounds more like physical description to me.

As for ‘feature’, somebody’s ‘features’ refers to somebody’s physical looks. “He has sharp features.” Would refer to a man having a sharp face (sharp jaw, sharp cheek bones etc)
Q: Was ist der Unterschied zwischen trait und features ?
A: A trait refers more to character (like nice, confident, etc) while feature will refer to a physical thing (dimples, skinny, etc).
Q: Was ist der Unterschied zwischen trait und attribute und property und quality ?
A: "Humour is a good trait." (More commonly used to describe people. Example: personality trait)

"An attribute of a circle is that it is round." (More used to describe objects and things)

Quality is more used for describing people too.

Property is more used for describing objects and things.

However I feel that these words are all very similar. ^^
Q: Was ist der Unterschied zwischen trait und feature ?
A: trait is typically used for living things, like people and animals. "A good sense of humor is one of his traits".
feature is used mainly for nonliving or artificial things. "The new iPod has many interesting features". You can use feature to talk about a person's appearance also. "Her facial features make her very attractive"
