@richurchoi Utensils include mainly plates and glass and all other things directly used for eating purpose.
Kitchen supplies also include microwave, refrigerator, etc.

utensils are mainly tools you use to eat, but can also be tools used to make food
chopsticks
spoons
forks
Knives
Also, pans, cheese grader, etc.
In a personal/home kitchen
(household kitchen)
most people have a drawer where they keep their utensils.
Supplies in general are things that become depleted and need to be stocked, replaced and stored.
Kitchen Supplies usually refers to commercial items.
That’s why the section in the electronics store is called “kitchen supplies”. You may only need one fridge, but they have to keep the store supplied.
Restaurants need to replenish their kitchen supplies at the end of each day. The job of the restaurant manager is to stock the kitchen.

Utensils is a word meaning “objects used for”, so the word you put in front of it describe what the utensils are for. Usually used only in the real of the kitchen, though. So eating utensils are forks, knives, spoons, chopsticks, etc. while cooking utensils are specifically used for cooking. For example, ladles, wooden spoons, spatulas, etc. are all cooking utensils. Kitchen supplies are anything in the kitchen besides groceries but are usually cooking supplies too. Technically, they’re anything you need in the kitchen. Trash bags can be kitchen supplies, as can mops, pots, pans, etc.

@richurchoi reading other people’s responses, I feel like the difference isn’t completely agreed upon. It’s not something we’re often asked to discuss haha
