@weepopstar Thanks. I checked some English novels on the Amazon, and found they were too expensive ( 30 to 40 dollars.) That’s why I asked this question. I guess they’re including shipping cost.
- Englisch (US)
@Yu456 Yes, that definitely includes shipping. Do you read ebooks? Your best bet for physical books in English is to find an English bookstore in your country and have them ship directly to you. If you want to read ebooks in English, that's a much easier (and cheaper) thing to find. If you give me a title or two I can look for you.

@weepopstar Thank you for your kind. Fortunately, I can borrow a wide variety of English books from my city library. It’s still hard for me to read juvenile books 😣

@Yu456 You can try lingq.com it's designed for people learning a new language to use reading materials.
There are also ESL adult books (ESL = English as a second language).
There is also apps and websites that have things like the original book on one side and the translation on the other... ParallelText.io , but it's not available for Japanese yet.. (in Amazon, you can add audio to many ebooks to listen while you read). You can also choose a book that has been translated into Japanese, or a Japanese book that has been translated into English. I found some audio books on YouTube that I have read and have listened to the English version, now I'm listening to the Hebrew version.
There is also lyricstranslate.com , you can find translations for many Japanese songs into English and English songs into Japanese..
As far as reading materials for adults, when I was growing up my parents gave me a book of short stories by Isaac Bashevis Singer. I didn't know this at the time but they were translated (into English) and meant for adults. You might want to look for books of short stories (topics that interest you). There are plenty of great short mystery anthologies, Or there are series that are made for elementary school kids that are chapter books. It depends on your reading level in English. Do you know what your reading level is? I worked in a bookstore for a long time, so I can recommend something if I knew what level you are at.

@weepopstar You gave me great websites. I’m really grateful for your help.
My reading level is around YL3.5 (take a look at the image.)
I love “When Marnie Was t
There,” “Flowers For Algernon,” Fahrenheit 451” etc. I’ve read them in Japanese, though.

OK, sorry for the delay, I was getting it translated into English levels. It's about an A2, elementary school reading level in the US.
These are the books recommended by one (big) book publishing company: http://www.macmillanreaders.com/reader_level/el...#
I took the test they have for reading levels (why it took so long for me to write back to you). I did this because I wanted to see how good it was. I tried another test first but it marked me wrong on three questions that I got right (the only three questions I got wrong). I understand why it marked me wrong, it was testing British English and we do have some differences in grammar (but it didn't say British English test and therefore they shouldn't have been marked wrong. If someone tries to take the test, that didn't know there was a difference, they would be confused and frustrated).
Anyway, so you're between an A2 and B1 on CEFR (which is the European level "system"), equal to about elementary school here (ages 8-11 I would think).
if you want to the the English level test that I didn't hate:

The British Council has a good website with reading materials and other ideas https://learnenglishteens.britishcouncil.org/co...
You can also get classic audio books read for free @ librivox.org
and these same books are available to read for free @ www.gutenberg.org
I'm a fan of Sherlock Holmes. And he's so popular, they've made TV shows and movies about his stories, so there is a lot of media available.

@weepopstar I tried the test, and I got intermediate level. I’ll do my best to improve by reading these books!
Sherlock Holmes is popular in Japan too. And I’ve read some books about him. I’ll try them in English someday.
I appreciate you so much 😆

@Yu456 That's great! That's B1 in CEFR. About middle school in the U.S. I think. So you can always search for B1 CEFR reading/resources/books.
Here are some free things to read for your level:
