it’s like “kind of ish” .... like if someone says around 5:30 and someone responds around 5:30ish.

It is usually used informally to say something like "somewhat" or "about." It depends on the context
examples:
"I'll be there, noon-ish" = "I'll be there around noon."
"The tallish boy stands in the back." = The boy is somewhat tall. He's taller than average, but not very tall.

@nevadan Then it should work the same way as tallish. It could roughly be translated as the word "somewhat"

What I mean is you could say something is "safeish" or "somewhat safe" and it would mean the same thing

Yes!
"That neighborhood is safeish, but I would still be careful."
"That neighborhood is somewhat safe, but I would still be careful."
Does that make sense?

@NanaWinter oooh I think I know why u said ish and somewhat are relevant so ish means not 100% right for example blackish is not 100% black and safeish is not 100% safe am I right??

There are the literal meanings of these two, but I'll try to explain their other meanings.
"Come across" can be either finding something by chance ("I came across an unfamiliar word.") or how a person seems to be ("She came across as confident.")
"Come forward" can be another way of saying volunteer or to offer information ("She came forward with information about the accident.")

@NanaWinter is come forward only used with police stuff because I've only seen examples of police stuff with come forward
- Englisch (US)
@nevadan It could be used in other ways, but it isn't a very common phrase. That is when it is most commonly used based on what I've heard (police work)

Well, it could be used the same way but in a different situation. (for example, when someone shares information about a subject)
It can sometimes be used when someone volunteers to do something. It could also be used when someone shares an idea. Hopefully that makes sense

@NanaWinter so can I say.
*sir, can you please come forward and cooperate with some information for the project.
*I came across with these two girls from high school and they slapped me in the face.

"I came across these two girls from high school and they slapped me in the face." ("with" shouldn't be used)
Other than that, both sentences make sense.
