At least where I'm from, homeroom is a classroom but you it's not necessarily a class. It's more so we can get homework done and discuss things like bullying, abuse, drugs, lockdown drills (the US does have gun-school problems), etc.
We have the same classmates, teacher, and homeroom for all 4 years of high school. They do record attendance but many teachers don't try because it's in the middle of the day so many students don't skip during that time and if they do they come back after the bell rings for the next class period.

The concept of ‘Homeroom’ is way different from ours, so it’s really confusing...
So then you guys keep moving to the next classrooms.
but when it’s the time for getting homeworkd done or discussing something, you must come back to your homeroom and be with your homeroom teacher.
And when something came up to you, you talk with your homeroom teacher.
Did I get it correctly ?

In my school homeroom was the first class of the day. It lasted about 10 minutes. The teacher took attendance, handed out important paperwork, and the morning announcements were done over the loudspeaker.
After that you would go to your normal classes, like math or history.

Basically, at least in Texas, we have 4 main (course) classes each day (so 1st period is Spanish, 2nd is science, and so on). In between 2nd and 3rd period is what we call in Texas "Activity Period". It's when you can go anywhere to get homework, tutoring, lessons, and so on. Now on certain days, instead of going anywhere we HAVE to go to homeroom. I always hated it because I don't have many friends in my homeroom class and we don't do much.
In homeroom you can get your homework done (i know it doesn't make sense since we still have 2 more classes to go to but that's how it is) and on certain occasions they have presentations we have to watch (like stop smoking, bullying, and so on). The class is just really to help kids get some homework done before the bell to go home. It's also to help kids know how where to go for tutorials (tutoring) to get their grades up. if that makes sense

So then there’s no close relationship between homeroom teacher and students ?
In my country, Homeroom Teacher is supposed to be in charge of one class but in yours, they don’t have that big role compared to ours.
Maybe they more focus on all kids in school.
Is this correct ?

@D_Kim Yeah, that's correct. We only saw our homeroom teacher for 10 minutes or so. We didn't do much with them. But the homeroom teachers also taught regular subjects. So your homeroom teacher might have been your math or gym teacher, too.

No they are in charge of our class. Our relationship just isn't close because we only see them 2-3 times a week. Some people were close with their homeroom teachers and would go to homeroom when they didn't have to.
Homeroom teachers didn't have anything to teach unless they had to show us a presentation, so they would work on their work for their next class and we would work on our homework. They focus is mainly to keep our grades up and make sure we are doing what we need to be doing to pass and partcipate in sports and stuff (in Texas we have this thing called UIL, where if you are failing you can't play in a game, be in a play, or play for the band/orchestra/choir)

Oh that’s even more clear !!
So it seems that the concept might be a little different depending on where you live even in the US.
Thanks a lot again 💕🙏🏻💕
