It is not necessarily the same meaning as “I always get mixed up between those two.”
Each of the two (Whatever) in the first sentence could just be confusing on their own without anything to do with the other.
Now, if you said “I always get confused between those two” the two sentences would be much closer to the same.

@ladybug I’m always confused by cualquier and aún in Spanish, but the confusion isn’t between those two. Two things can be confusing individually without regard to each other. Or they can be confused with regard to each other.
