Correct me if I’m wrong but if the supermarket isn’t brand new then I wouldn’t add “opening for the first time” as it gives the assumption that this is a brand new supermarket.

→“I could buy rice balls which always sold out.” Good sentence!
No correction here but there is an alternative sentence if you did buy the rice balls.

→“I was able to buy rice balls which always ended up selling out.”
