I just saw this sentences and I can’t understand the meaning of “going off/ go off” here. I haven’t seen this Phrasal verb used in this way before. Could you please explain me this, guys? 😄 what’s the meaning of “go off” in this sentence?

“Going off of” means that you analyzing based on something. So the speaker has analyzed his behavior, so they are assuming something based on it.
“Going off of his behavior... I would say he likes you” could be the assumption. “Going off his behavior, he hates you...” etc

It’s really hard to describe since it’s such an “english-y” thing to say. “Going off” means something similar to “inferring” or “interpreting”. Like you’re seeing how he behaves, and youre “going off” it and doing something in accordance with that.

It could be understood as "based off". Because his behavior is happy, I can smile and make jokes. If his behavior is angry, I will talk politely and calmly.
