Frage über Englisch (US)

“There’s a Ibiza club, choked with senseless dancers getting blind drunk or drugged up for their escapades from reality” In this sentence, I assumed “escapades” meant like a escape. So I misunderstood “for their escape from reality”. But I found out “escapade” is an exciting and rather dangerous adventure. So it should be understood that “for their exciting and dangerous adventure from reality”? I think that the former meaning is fit in the context, but why the author wrote “escapades from reality” instead of “escape from reality”? Could you explain better to me?
