“Visa restriction are lifted” and “Visa restriction are lowered”.
Does these two sentences have the same meaning?
I saw these sentences in a reading test and the answer sheet said that it tell the same thing. So I confused, how can two opposite words like ‘lifted’ and ‘lowered’ became simillar when putting in the same sentence.

@ychangychang yes they mean the same thing. Imagine a table with a pen on it, if you LIFT the pen up into your hand it is no longer on the table and if you LOWER the pen onto a chair it is also no longer on the table. In both circumstances the pen leaves the table. the same thing with Visa restrictions, whether they are lifted or lowered they are no longer there.

When restrictions are "lifted", they are removed. (like removing a weight that restricted movement)
When restrictions are "lowered", they are reduced. (like making a fence shorter, easier to climb over)
Since Visas always have some requirements that restrict who can get them, a subset of the restrictions could be lifted, and that would be the same as lowering the restrictions.
