Do the following sentences sound natural?
It's said that we need to prepare 20 million yen as a retirement fund in Japan. That is to say, partners have to put aside 40 million yen between two of them together for their life after retirement. If the wife is a housewife and they have children, I think there are few people who can prepare such a large amount of money.
In Showa-period, there was a phrase, "The most important thing for men is earn a lot, for women is to be beautiful" in Japan, but it has become a past story.
Nowadays, most Japanese men don't have lots of money, so it has become a poor performance for women to appeal their femininity against Japanese men.
I think the lifetime non-marriage rate in Japan will continue to rise in the future until Japanese view of marriage dramatically changes. I wish a real gender equality would arrive in Japan, too.

remove together from “two of them together”, and change the last sentence to “ I wish for real gender equality in Japan”
