Wie sagt man das auf Englisch (US)? 어린이들은 인형을 친구처럼 대합니다.
= Children treat dolls like(as) their friends.


Is this right? I'm confused about using the verb 'treat' in nuance.

Both are correct. Although the word "doll" usually means like a toy that looks like a person. whereas a teddy bear would be called a stuffed animal. You could also just say the word "toy". The difference between saying the sentences with the words "like" and "as" is very small, but I think saying "as if they were their friends" is what I would probably say.

The nuance difference between "as" "like" and "as if they were" is very small although the phrase "as if they were" more strongly stresses that its almost as if the toys are really their friends. where as "as" and "like" still mean this but it doesn't stress this meaning as much as "as if they were." This is also something that I just feel and is not a strict rule. I really feel that the nuance between the phrases is very small.

@Busansadboiz Thanks you for this detailed explanation! I was confused about how can I say a cotton-stuffed toy as well. So is the verb 'treat' also correct, right?

I understand. We don't have a word like 인형 that has the exact meaning. Here we can speak specifically for example "Doll/teddy bear/action figure/lego". The widest meaning that has all of this is "toy" which you could use here as well. Also "teddy bear" is frequently used. Yes "treat" is also right!
