Frage über Türkisch
If someone was to complement my Turkish, is it rude to say "thank you" to that? I know that in some countries and cultures (mostly asian) it can be considered rude to accept a compliment because it may make you seem prideful or as if you are boasting. For example, if someone in Japan said to me "you use chopsticks so well," it would be more appropriate for me to respond with "no no, I'm just a beginner" or something like that even if you know that you are good at using chopsticks

It's not rude to say thank you, completely fine. But you can say " thank you but I'm just a beginner " "ty, I'm still learning." " ty, i still have much to learn." if you want to sound more modest. and its probably better.

It depends on the compliment/situation. Accepting some complements in some situations can sound prideful, as you explained. In this case, it isn't rude to say "thank you"(teşekkürler).
For humble response, you can say "teveccühünüz" which means something like "it's not me, it's your bright way of looking".

Thank you but I'm just a beginner - Teşekkür ederim(or teşekkürler) ama sadece başlangıç seviyesindeyim.
Thank you, I'm still learning - Teşekkür ederim, hala öğreniyorum.
Thank you, I still have much to learn - Teşekkür ederim, hala öğrenmem gereken çok şey var.
You can say like that ^^ but also it's not rude if you only say thank you

if you say "eyvallah" instead teşekkür ederim they may think you are advanced 😀

I guess it depends on the situation , people , your character
For example in some cases teşekkür ederim is going to be enough personally I use this version in more formal situations but I also use it in my daily conversations as well
Let's say my friend says I look beautiful I would say
Teşekkürler ,sen de harika görünüyorsun ( Thank you you look great too . )
Yazın çok güzelmiş ( Your handwriting is beautiful )
Thank you ( Teşekkürler )- Is what I would use
there is sth that I want to add personally I don't know about you but I am kind of awkward when it comes to accepting a compliment ;)
