We will stop the bolo on him until we find out the truth.
- is this correct? The situation is, the police have already issued a bolo on a man, but they found circumstantial evidence that he might not be their guy. So, the police decided to "withhold" the bolo until they know the truth.

@lovelystar I might not use withhold here.
Perhaps:
Investigators will cancel the BOLO on him until they find out the truth.
We will remove the BOLO on him until we find out the truth.
We will rescind the BOLO on him until we find out the truth.
Note: I did some reading. Today, BOLO is more common than APB.
The police department releases a BOLO.
Police officers receive a BOLO.
The police department might remove a BOLO.

The term BOLO is a new one to me. I see that it is used in the US but I have not heard this used in this way for "be on the lookout". I am more familiar with the term APB, as in "The police have issued an all-points bulletin."
Your sentence is generally correct. Acronyms are always capitalized, so it would be:
We will stop the BOLO on him until we find out the truth.

@EBSNH Really???? I heard it a lot of time when I was watching NCIS, so I thought it was the general term 😱😱 So, APB is more used rather than BOLO, right? Got it. Thanks for the reply♥♥

@EBSNH Oh, one more question. If I want to use the word 'withhold', how should I write the sentence?

@lovelystar I am not one to watch lawyer, court and police shows. It is possible even that BOLO might be more common than APB today. Perhaps someone else will chime in. Bottom line is that BOLO is good and APB is a synonym for it. Remember, especially in formal writing, always capitalize an acronym.

@lovelystar
It would be wrong to withhold evidence.
I have a lot to say, but I will withhold my opinion so that I can hear what you have to say first.
As a parent I would never withhold affection. Give them hugs.

@EBSNH Omg, I think I said it in a wrong way 😂 I was asking how I should use the word "withhold" in the sentence that I asked. Can I just replace stop with withhold? Like, "I will just withhold the BOLO on him until we find out the truth"?
