@laianafcarv I don't have statistics, so I have to go by my impression: No, maybe dass sentences are slightly more common than these. I think they can be used in more contexts.
Still, you will encounter this type of sentences sometimes:
Du weißt, das ist verboten.
Wir finden, das ist eine gute Idee.
Ich sage, wir machen das. ("ich sage" here is used to make a suggestion that you're favouring, it's not a description of yourself saying these words - similar to "I think we should ...")
Man sieht, du kennst dich aus.
