1. Are they the opposite to each other? I'm only saying "opposite" because I cannot think of some other words now, I mean, I guess they're not exactly the same but fall into the same category of higher education (I reckon)…or maybe "counterpart" sounds better? But are the two, the two only, all of the higher education?

2. What's the difference between the two, especially for the quality of education? I heard you could transfer credits in community college to university... So they should share the similar, if not the same, quality I suppose. But on that note, why don't students finish all the education in community college if it's the same and much cheaper there?

Community colleges are seen as less prestigious. This is why students sometimes complete their core requirements at a community college and then transfer to a more prestigious college.

Community colleges often only offer associate degrees (2-year degrees). In other words, you usually cannot receive a bachelor's degree in a particular field at a community college. That's another one of the reasons that people transfer from community colleges to four-years.
