Frage über Deutsch

What is the difference between

Ich will nicht Ski fahren

Ich will Ski fahren nicht

The lesson I read on the subject (your daily german “the position of nicht”) said that you put nicht before the word you want to negate when the word is in its side sentence structure (what you use when there is a subordinate conviction)

In this case that would be

Ich ski fahren will

And if i want to negate the “will” as “i DONT want to” then it would go before like in the second example.

I ask my German friends though and they say it should be the first but they can’t explain why.

Thanks for any help
