Ain't is a regional expression. It is considered poor grammar. It can be considered rude or even disrespectful. Here in the southeast United States it is used very commonly. My mother always corrected me, "Don't say ain't!"
It is good to know about it though because you may hear it in some situations. For example: That ain't right. (That isn't right.) Very commonly used to emphasize that something is wrong or hateful.

yes and no. yes it's considered rude and it's absolutely not proper but where i live (Eastern side ironically) it's not really that bad to say. BUT if you are trying to sound proper and respectable don't say aint. most of my friends say aint when they strongly disagree to doing something but i use it every so often
