Frage ĂŒber Englisch (UK)
Could you please help with my writing?đđ
Iâd like to make them sound as natural as possible!!
How would you say this?
You can totally rephrase the sentence if you want.
1.On my way home, when I went down the subway station stairs, there was a beggar sitting in the corner. He was wearing a black jacket with the hood on, kneeling underground, putting his head down. Normally I just ignore and walked past them quickly, because Iâm kind of scared of them. But today a guy who walked from the opposite side of me, gave him some money. It made my heart warm up. Since it still winter, I feel sorry for the homeless person. I have no idea why he became a vagrant, but I hope that he can sleep some warm place.
(I mean he was wearing the hood on his jacket.
He is covering his head with the hood.
I donât know how to say this in Englishđ)
2.This morning at work, I read todayâs top 10 stories in the Korean times in English. It was super cool, because I was able to read some popular news while studying English.

@Alice1009 Try this: On my way home when I went down into the subway, there was a beggar sitting in a corner. He was wearing a black jacket with its hood up and kneeling head-down on the ground. Normally I just ignore beggars and walk quickly past them because they scare me. But today a man, coming in the opposite direction, gave him some money. It/that warmed my heart. Because it was still winter, I felt sorry for the homeless man. I had no idea why he had become a vagrant, but I hoped that he would be able to sleep somewhere warm.
When you are telling a story, it is usually told in the past tense. So try and maintain the past tense and do not unnecessarily switch to the present tense.
