Frage über Englisch (US)
As the word "straight" is also used to refer to heterosexual people. Do you have another slangy/more informal ways to call people with other sexual preferences? Such as homosexual (apart from "gay"), bisexual, pansexual, etc.

There are a lot of ways (words and expressions) to say someone's part of the LGBTQ+ community, sadly some of those are slurs or just rude.
Some are fine IF you are close to the person you're talking to/about, but it's risky anyway. Context is important.
Now, the words I can think of:
I'd say that "queer" is the more inclusive one and has zero negative connotation (technically, of course). It refers to all people that aren't straight nor cisgender.
There's "lesbian", which is already famous.
Another neutral word is "enby" (from NB - non binary), used by/for people who are, well, non-binary.
These are the ones I can remember right now that have no negative aspects (apart from "gay" and "bi").

I think the other commenter has responded perfectly. There aren't a ton of socially acceptable terms/non-slurs to refer to gay people aside from just "gay", "homosexual", or "queer". I'll let you know of the biggest slurs though, not because I agree with them but because you should be aware of their meaning when it becomes relevant.
"Faggot" (or fag for short) is used to refer to anyone queer, most typically gay men but it classifies the whole group. "Dike" is a derogatory term for lesbians.
Those are the main ones, there are others but that's what occurs to my right now. But yeah, to talk about someone who's not straight, I'd just say "gay", "queer", or just directly say whatever their sexuality is "lesbian", "bi", "trans", etc.

@jonahwoolley it's also important to notice that some derogatory words are used WITHIN the community, but shouldn't really be used by strangers or people who aren't close enough, you know?
