@8ni0i So 싶어 and 싶다 can be alternated in ANY sentence?
Also, may I ask why you added the 했어? What does that mean?

@lattaenkookies
' -어 ' is usually used in conversation and ' -다 ' is used when writing.
'(말)했어' is means 'said'

"싶어/싶다" can end the sentence you are saying. So, in most cases, "싶어/싶다" comes to the end of Korean sentences. (There is little difference between 싶어 and 싶다. just 싶어 is a little more friendly expression?)
집에 가고 싶다 = 집에 가고 싶어
I want to go home = I want to go home
But "싶다고" can add one more verb in some situations.
e.g.> 나는 ~싶다고 말했어/말했다
: I said that [Subject] want(or wants) to ~
나는 ~싶다고 속삭였어
: I whispered that [Subject] want(or wants) to ~
나는 ~싶다고 소리쳤어
: I yelled (at somebody) that [Subject] want(wants) to ~
나는 ~싶다고 주장했어
: I argued that [Subject] want(wants) to ~
In most cases, "[Subject]" of 'want(wants)' verb is the same as the subject of outer clauses. (ex> He argued that he wants ~~~ / She yelled that she want... / I whispered that I want ...)

@Iksun So 싶어, 싶다 would be used for more direct sentences like "I want this", "He wants that", "She wants it" etc. whereas 싶다고 is a little more indirect as your examples show. Thank you~
