Corrected version:
"I understand marketing is very difficult and that a result isn't always guaranteed."
My preferred version:
"I am well aware that despite your efforts, results are not guaranteed as marketing can be very complicated."
- I also think "分かっています" translates well as "I am well aware".
The phrase "I understand -----" is often used when you sympathise with the other person but nonetheless give them strict feedback/comments.
- "I understand you are having a tough time, but there are a lot of people who have it harder than you."
