I'm doing a presentation at university about 윤동주 and the different interpretations of his poems.

There are a few lines in 쉽게 씌어진 시 which are not that clear for me.

So I'm curious: how do you personally interpret this poem and especially these lines?

생각해 보면 어린때 동무를
하나, 둘, 죄다 잃어 버리고

나는 무얼 바라
나는 다만, 홀로 침전(沈澱)하는 것일까?

and:
나는 나에게 적은 손을 내밀어
눈물과 위안(慰安)으로 잡는 최초(最初)의 악수(握手).

쉽게 씌어진 시

창(窓) 밖에 밤비가 속살거려
육첩방(六疊房)은 남의 나라,

시인(詩人)이란 슬픈 천명(天命)인 줄 알면서도
한 줄 시(詩)를 적어 볼까,

땀내와 사랑내 포근히 품긴
보내주신 학비(學費) 봉투(封套)를 받아
대학(大學) 노―트를 끼고
늙은 교수(敎授)의 강의(講義) 들으러 간다.

생각해 보면 어린때 동무를
하나, 둘, 죄다 잃어 버리고

나는 무얼 바라
나는 다만, 홀로 침전(沈澱)하는 것일까?

인생(人生)은 살기 어렵다는데
시(詩)가 이렇게 쉽게 씌어지는 것은
부끄러운 일이다.

육첩방(六疊房)은 남의 나라
창(窓)밖에 밤비가 속살거리는데,

등불을 밝혀 어둠을 조금 내몰고,
시대(時代)처럼 올 아침을 기다리는 최후(最後)의 나,

나는 나에게 적은 손을 내밀어
눈물과 위안(慰安)으로 잡는 최초(最初)의 악수(握手).

Korea poems cannot be translated in English
it's impossible,be honesty it can be but roughly 20%
There's no expression to explain about that poem in English

And if you want it to be translated,you should find some professional translater who is taking for translating poem from Korean to English

Thanks for the advice but I don't need it to be translated (there's already English translations around anyway), I was just curious about how different people might see/understand/interpret what the poet wanted to express with these lines in the poem ^^
