You need to study hard if you want to learn how to use the accents correctly, in my opinion is the most difficult part about spanish, actually I don't know all of them đ so the best way to learn them is read and read in that way you can learn them by heart! good luck đ

It depends on the word and it's just memorization

Rule #1:
Spanish accents are called tildes. Theyâre only used with five vowels (a, e, i, o, u), and theyâre written from lower left to upper right on top:
ĂĄ, ĂŠ, Ă, Ăł, Ăş
Rule #2:
When words end in a vowel, n, or s, the âstressâ of the word is naturally on the second to last syllable and doesnât require a tilde:
⢠gente (gen-te) â people â (stress the first e)
⢠bonito (bon-i-to) â pretty â (stress the i)
⢠ponen (pon-en) â they put â (stress the o)
⢠hablas (hab-las) â you talk â (stress the first a)
Rule #3:
When words end in a consonant that isnât n or s, the stress naturally falls on the last syllable and doesnât require a tilde:
⢠la capital (cap-i-tal) â the capitol â (stress the second a)
⢠tomar (tom-ar) â to take â (stress the a)
⢠la edad (e-dad) â age â (stress the a)
⢠el pudor (pu-dor) â embarrassment â (stress the o)
Rule #4:
Add tildes when the wordâs stress doesnât follow Rule #2 or #3, meaning the stress doesnât lie where it does normally:
⢠el corazĂłn (cor-a-zĂłn) â heart â (Rule #2 would say stress the a, but instead you stress the second o, which is why thereâs a written accent there)
⢠los jĂłvenes (jĂł-ven-es) â young people â (Rule #2 would say stress the e, but instead you stress the o, which is why thereâs a written accent there)
⢠las ĂĄguilas (ĂĄg-uil-as) â eagles â (Rule #3 would say stress the u, but instead you stress the first a, which is why thereâs a written accent there)
⢠fĂĄcil (fĂĄ-cil) â easy â (Rule #3 would say stress the i, but you you stress the a, which is why thereâs a written accent there)

I have trouble with where the accents go on words, but the best way is to study! If you can't remember, say the word and try to figure out where you're putting the stress.
