Chinese students start learning ancient Chinese at a young age.Do u guys learn something like ancient English?(ps:I know someone learns Latin)

We call it old English but we arent taught it. We learn it through things like "Shakespeare" and old documents. Like the sentence, "Are you hungry" in old english would be "Art thou hungry" :)

No, there's no such thing as ancient english. We just learn grammar when we're little. Although, we started learning Spanish when we were 10 at my school. I think it is common to learn Spanish as a second language in the US.

There's definitely Ancient English, but we don't learn it. Shakespeare is Early Modern English. If you saw true Anglo-Saxon 'Old English' you wouldn't be able to understand more than 10% of it.

Of regnes; ye been fadres of tydynges
And tales; bothe of pees and debaat.

To say there's no Ancient English would be the same as saying English is exactly the same today as it was over 1000 years ago; which is silly

Thx:) what we learned is not pronunciation of ancient Chinese(it has been lost,people today surely can't hear that ),but we learn the grammar, phrases and words .Also,we need to recite some long articles of them.
