Was bedeutet for less than the cost of more conventional ways of getting around. ?
Was bedeutet for less than the cost of more conventional ways of getting around. ?
I have a question about "the cost" in " for less than the cost of more conventional ways of getting around. "
Is it referring the fee to ride on the new transportation or the cost to build the transportation?
This question is not trivial. It’ll take mountains of money and paperwork to build the network of tubes and pods, address the myriad safety issues, and attract enough customers, for less than the cost of more conventional ways of getting around. It’s far too soon for Hyperloop One to talk ticket prices, but Lloyd says construction will cost $10 million per mile of two-way track. That’s a bit less than the $12.4 million per mile China reportedly pays for high-speed rail. (Costs for California’s long quagmired high speed rail system, meanwhile, have risen to $35 million per mile.)

@monica8: I believe this is simply saying Transportation method A (A being Hyperion One) will cost less to build than Method B (B being the more common methods of transportation, such as a monorail or other high-speed train).

@monica8: "conventional ways" is referring to "common modes of transportation or more normal ways of transportation", as compared to the new concept.
