I found ppl tend to say with "get to + verb" rather than stating plainly the "verb" itself.

For example,,
"We didn't get to spend lots of time together"
other than
"We didn't spend lots of ~(ditto)~."

Could u specify what the differences are?.
Is that the same as saying,,,
"we have come to~~"???
