Commas are used to indicate a pause in speech. I'll give you an example of when to use it.
"Appealing to tourists, the leisure sports facilities are especially nice when it starts getting warm"
Or it's used to pause when adding a detail then continuing the sentence
"My mom, who loves to cook, is a great woman"
