In that sentence, you’d use ‘food’
I ate some different kinds of food.
You can use ‘foods’ when talking about ond particular type of food.
"Italy is the source of many delicious foods -- pizza, pasta, salami, biscotti..."
But it’s not used very commonly.

I see."Foods" is not commonly used...
Can I also say "I had some food." or "I had food."?
In that case,do they imply "I had some different kinds of food"? or just one type of food?

The common way you’d use food (as a noun) is already a plural, so there’s no need for an ‘s’ on the end.
You’d say, ‘I had some food’ not ‘I had a food’ for example.
It’s similar to other words in English which are already plurals like the word ‘sheep’, you’d wouldn’t ever say ‘sheeps’
But there are niche situations where ‘a food’ means ‘a certain type of food’ like in the example I gave. I really doubt you’ll see this used often though so you don’t need to worry too much :)

Most of the time, people just use the work food, so if you hesitate what to use - just don't add s, and most likely, you will be right. I can say that I started getting into the food industry pretty deeply not so long ago, after I got new Kitchen Cabinets PRINCETON https://kitchensearch.com/, NJ and started cooking more, and I never saw someone use the word foods.
